This procedure significantly impacts not only the aesthetic appearance but also the psychological well-being of the patient. At Premier Clinic, we offer a wide range of modern breast reconstruction methods tailored to the individual needs of each patient, aiming to achieve the best possible aesthetic and functional outcome.

Why choose breast reconstruction?

After successfully overcoming breast cancer, many women face emotional challenges associated with the loss of a breast. Breast reconstruction can help restore not only the shape and volume of the breast but also the internal sense of wholeness and self-confidence. The choice of the most suitable method depends on the patient's health status, the type of oncological treatment, and her aesthetic preferences.

Options for breast reconstruction

Breast reconstruction is highly individualized, and there are several options for carrying out this process:

Immediate breast reconstruction
Immediate breast reconstruction is performed simultaneously with the mastectomy. This procedure can significantly improve the psychological state of the patient, as it minimizes the time a woman is without a breast. Reconstruction can be performed either using a silicone implant or the patient's own tissue.

Delayed breast reconstruction
Delayed reconstruction is performed after a certain period following the mastectomy, usually 12–24 months, when the patient is stabilized and ready for further surgical intervention. This method is suitable for patients who need to undergo additional treatment, such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

Breast reconstruction using an implant
When using a silicone implant, the breast is reconstructed using artificial material. This method is quick, effective, and relatively common. Silicone implants can provide a good aesthetic result and are long-lasting.

Breast reconstruction using the patient's own tissue
If the patient prefers a more natural solution, her own tissue can be used, for example, from the abdomen, buttocks, or back. This procedure is more complex, but the result is more natural and long-lasting.

Combined method
In some cases, a combination of implants and the patient's own tissue can be used to achieve the optimal aesthetic result.

How does recovery proceed?

Breast reconstruction is a demanding surgical procedure, and the recovery time depends on the type of surgery, the extent of the procedure, and the patient's health status. After the operation, the patient will be monitored, and she will gradually face several weeks to months of recovery.

Immediate reconstruction: In immediate reconstruction, mastectomy and reconstruction occur simultaneously, which means a longer recovery time. It usually takes 2–4 weeks, depending on the extent of the surgery.

Delayed reconstruction: In delayed reconstruction, the recovery period is usually shorter, as the patient has already undergone mastectomy and is stabilized. The recovery time can be 1–2 months, depending on the method used.

How to prevent complications?

Breast reconstruction is a complex surgical procedure, and although complications are rare, it is important to be aware of certain risks. To minimize complications, choosing a qualified clinic and an experienced surgeon who selects the appropriate surgical technique is crucial. Factors that can affect the outcome of the surgery include:

Patient's health status: Obesity, diabetes, smoking, or other cardiovascular or endocrinological issues can increase the risk of complications.

Use of implants: Capsular contracture, which is the formation of a hard capsule around the implant, can occur in some patients.

Infections and inflammations: Diligent postoperative care and regular follow-up with the doctor will help minimize the risk of infection.

Complications with the use of local flaps and implants: In some cases, flap detachment may occur, requiring a second surgery.

Quick information

Immediate reconstruction – performed simultaneously with tumor removal (mastectomy).

Delayed reconstruction – performed 12, 24, or more months after the removal of the breast or part of it.

Materials used – reconstruction can utilize the patient's own tissue (e.g., from the abdomen, buttocks) or a silicone implant.

Reconstruction of the nipple and areola – usually performed up to 3 months after the primary reconstruction.

Post-operative care – an elastic bra is worn for 3 weeks. Full physical activity is allowed after 2 months.

Payment form

Breast reconstruction surgery is not covered by health insurance at our clinic - we do not have health insurance providers.

[57
60

post-29098","procedures","type-procedures","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","obor-plastic-surgery","casti_tela-breast
["GET
