According to Czech law No. 66/1986 Coll., abortions on request are legal up to the 12th week of pregnancy. An ultrasound examination is required to determine the age of the fetus. If the pregnancy lasts a maximum of 11 weeks and 6 days, the abortion can be performed without stating a reason.

The interruption is performed under general anesthesia. After disinfecting the genitalia, the doctor dilates the cervix and removes the pregnancy sac using vacuum aspiration.
