Laser hair removal – how long will my skin stay smooth and hair-free?
Traditional hair removal methods, such as shaving or tweezing, only provide temporary results – smooth skin lasts for about a week. How does laser hair removal compare?
How long do the results of laser hair removal last?
Unlike temporary methods, laser hair removal delivers permanent results. The laser beam destroys the hair so effectively that it does not grow back. It therefore tackles the root cause, without putting a strain on the body and without any side effects.
Not all hairs are in the same growth phase
At any given time, hairs are in different stages of growth. We distinguish between three: anagen (active growth with concentrated pigment), catagen (transitional, slowing phase) and telogen (resting, final phase). The laser is most effective during the anagen phase – which is precisely why several treatments are needed to ensure that all hairs are gradually targeted.
How many treatments will I need?
As a rule, 4 to 6 treatments are required, spaced several weeks to months apart, depending on the rate of hair growth and the area being treated. The result is smooth skin for many years to come – for most clients, practically permanently.
