Recovery depends on the chosen method and is always carefully explained by the attending doctor. Hospitalisation usually lasts 1–2 days, after which the patient is discharged to recover at home. Absorbable sutures are used, so there is no need to have them removed.
It is recommended that you sleep on your back and avoid heavy physical exertion and sport for at least 6–8 weeks. You should not have your first shower until at least 4 days after the operation.
Following implant insertion, it is necessary to wear an elastic support bra 24 hours a day for 4 weeks, followed by a soft, wire-free bra – a standard bra may be worn no sooner than 2 months after the operation. Conversely, following augmentation with your own fat, we recommend keeping the breasts as free as possible.
The operated area must be protected from direct sunlight for at least one month; scars should not be exposed to the sun for three months. Swelling and bruising are common after the procedure and will subside on their own within a few weeks. A post-operative check-up is recommended one week after the operation, and then as standard after 5–6 weeks.
