Liposuction-assisted fat transfer to the buttocks involves the body’s own tissue, which carries fewer risks; however, a portion of the transferred fat (30–50 per cent) is reabsorbed during the healing process.

For this method, it is always important to obtain a sufficient amount of adipose tissue, most commonly from the hips or thighs; however, this is not always possible in very slim patients. For optimal results, buttock plastic surgery can be combined with lipofilling to enhance the shape.

Buttock surgery allows the use of high-quality implants of various shapes, sizes and profiles for those who need to restore volume to a sagging bottom or enhance their proportions.

Surgery using implants is a more invasive procedure suitable for healthy patients with good skin condition, in order to achieve the desired effect – rounding, lifting and, at the same time, tightening the loose skin beneath the buttocks.

Plastic surgery of the buttocks using implants is also intended for those who are dissatisfied with their appearance – those with small, asymmetrical or flat buttocks, or who lack sufficient body fat for liposuction.

A buttock augmentation is a relatively straightforward, even routine, procedure in the field of plastic surgery. It is carried out under general anaesthesia and takes approximately 90 minutes. The incision for inserting the implants is made between the buttocks to ensure the scar is as inconspicuous as possible.

We insert the implant beneath the gluteal muscle, which helps to secure the implant in place. It is important to position the implant away from the gluteal region, as this area bears the greatest strain when sitting.

With the autologous fat transfer method, we first remove fat from other areas via liposuction (most commonly from the hips or thighs) and then transfer it to the buttocks.

After the procedure, we will fit you with compression garments and you will stay with us for one day for observation.

After the procedure, the treated area may become sore, swollen, tight or bruised. In the vast majority of cases, this is nothing serious and the symptoms will subside within a few days.

Otherwise, you will need to sleep on your stomach for about a week and avoid sitting for at least 3 days. Recovery takes 14 days without physical exertion or sport. You can return to work after 2 weeks.

We do not recommend strengthening the gluteal muscles for 6 weeks. In the first few days, your buttocks will look fuller than you might expect – this is normal, as the implants will gradually settle into the desired position. A good result depends on the quality of your skin and adherence to the instructions.

The first check-up takes place the day after discharge, followed by another one a week after the procedure, and subsequently as required. The final result is visible within three months. We remain at your disposal should any complications arise or if you need advice on anything.
