Endoscopic forehead surgery is carried out under general anaesthesia and takes approximately 1 hour. Before the procedure, you will undergo a pre-operative examination and a detailed consultation, during which the plastic surgeon will mark the exact locations of the incisions and the areas to be treated.

The procedure itself begins with the creation of several tiny incisions, 1–2 cm in length, concealed within the hairline. The number of incisions depends on the extent of the treatment; there are usually four incisions strategically placed to provide optimal access to the entire forehead and eyebrow area.

Through these small incisions, the plastic surgeon inserts an endoscope. This is a thin tube with a miniature camera and a light source at the tip. The image from the endoscope is projected onto a monitor, allowing the surgeon to work precisely on the tissues in real time.

Using specialised instruments, the surgeon then carefully detaches the skin and muscle structures of the forehead from the underlying bone, thereby enabling them to be repositioned as desired.

The surgeon tightens the released tissues upwards and backwards, thereby lifting drooping eyebrows and smoothing out both horizontal and vertical wrinkles on the forehead.

Excess tissue is removed and the entire area is secured in its new position using special surgical screws, clips or sutures, which are absorbed by the body over time. The incisions are then closed with fine sutures or surgical glue.

Once the operation is complete, a sterile dressing and an elastic bandage are applied around the head to minimise swelling and aid healing. The patient usually remains at the clinic for around 1–2 hours under supervision and can then go home accompanied by a relative or friend. During the first week, it is important to take it easy and avoid strenuous activities. The stitches are removed after 7–10 days.

The results become apparent gradually as the swelling subsides. The final result will be fully evident approximately 3 months after the operation, once the tissues have fully settled into their new position. The endoscopic method offers a significantly less invasive approach than a traditional facelift, whilst still delivering a long-lasting rejuvenating effect.
