The removal of varicose veins, like carpal tunnel surgery, is an outpatient procedure carried out under local anaesthetic (or under analgosedation by arrangement); in exceptional cases, for more sensitive patients, the procedure may be carried out under general anaesthesia.

Laser beams penetrate the superficial venous tissue with the required radiofrequency energy without damaging the dermis.

When exposed to light energy, haemoglobin is absorbed, causing subsequent thermal heating and the elimination of varicose veins.

The procedure is virtually painless, lasts around 30 minutes, and after treatment the patient can resume their daily life without restriction.

When removing varicose veins by sclerotherapy, the injection site is immediately covered with a gauze plaster after the solution has been injected, and a compressive elastic bandage is applied to the treated area; the patient is discharged home after 2 hours.

The removal of varicose veins is a simple, gentle and non-restrictive procedure in aesthetic medicine.

After treatment, the skin may show signs of redness or minor bruising for a few hours, which will fade within a week.

Following the removal of varicose veins, we recommend increasing physical activity (brisk walking, cycling, jogging).

The results are usually very effective, though they depend on genetic predisposition and the quality of the vessel walls. A visible improvement in appearance usually occurs around 4 weeks after the removal of varicose veins.
