How will the procedure take place?
The treatment of lipedema is a multidisciplinary problem that involves the fields of vascular surgery, lymphology, and phlebology.
Before any procedure and treatment for lipedema, it is necessary to determine the patient’s condition using diagnostic methods and choose the treatment accordingly.

The examination of lipedema at our clinic includes an initial consultation and possibly ultrasound diagnostics. The initial consultation lasts about 30 minutes.
If venous insufficiency is present, a vascular surgeon will perform therapy for venous insufficiency before the actual treatment of lipedema.
The actual treatment of lipedema is performed using a water jet-based device. This is a gentle technique that separates problematic fat from surrounding tissues using the water jet and subsequently aspirates it.
During one session, a maximum of one area (thighs, calves, or arms) can be treated. If treatment of multiple areas is necessary, it is advisable to repeat the procedure.
And what about recovery after the procedure?
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. After the procedure, it is necessary to stay at our clinic for 1 night and to wear special compression garments. If everything is fine, only one follow-up appointment is needed after a week. Recovery is quick and non-restrictive.
