Thanks to modern venous surgery, it is possible to offer patients comprehensive care for venous system diseases. Thanks to mini-invasive methods, treatment is performed on an outpatient basis, without the need for anesthesia.
Varicose veins (varices) are one of the manifestations of chronic venous insufficiency (CHVI), specifically the second stage of this disease. The most common manifestations of chronic venous insufficiency include pain, swelling and visible varicose veins (varices), which may not limit the patient in any way in the initial phase, but as the disease progresses, chronic venous insufficiency may manifest itself, for example, by the development of inflammation or leg ulcers. In exceptional cases, the disease can even result in pulmonary embolism.

Varicose vein surgery is an invasive surgical procedure aimed at removing or closing affected veins. Before surgery, it is essential that the patient is in good health, without active inflammation or infection in the leg area. Approximately 10-14 days before the procedure, it is necessary to discontinue blood-thinning medications and other medications that increase the risk of bleeding, if recommended by the doctor. It is also important to inform the doctor about all medications taken and any allergies. Surgery is not suitable in case of acute viral or bacterial disease and during pregnancy, the procedure should be carefully considered.
After varicose vein surgery, it is important to follow a rest regimen and limit excessive physical exertion, especially in the first days after the procedure. Regular wearing of compression stockings according to the doctor’s instructions is recommended, which helps reduce swelling and promotes proper blood flow. The surgical site may be slightly swollen, bruising or mild pain may appear, which gradually subsides. The wound must be kept clean and dry, and in case of any unusual symptoms, such as significant redness, swelling or pain, contact a doctor. Follow-up examination usually takes place within 7-14 days after the procedure.
