Course of the Surgery
The surgery for breast implant removal can be straightforward or more complex depending on the specific circumstances:

Duration of the Surgery:
- Simplified Explantation: If it is not necessary to remove the fibrous capsule around the implant, the surgery is relatively quick and lasts about 30 minutes to an hour. This explantation can also be performed under local anesthesia without sedating the patient.
- Complicated Explantation: If the implant is ruptured or if the capsule needs to be removed, the surgery may take longer. The removal of free silicone or remnants from a ruptured implant can extend the surgery time by several tens of minutes.

Anesthesia: The surgery is performed under general anesthesia, meaning that the patient is asleep during the procedure and feels no pain.

Preoperative Preparation: Before the surgery, it is essential to undergo a preoperative examination and follow the doctor’s instructions, such as avoiding smoking and medications that increase the risk of bleeding.
