Abdominoplasty (plastic surgery of the abdomen) is a surgical procedure that removes excess and loose skin in the abdominal area and tightens the abdominal muscles. This procedure is an ideal solution after significant weight loss or childbirth, when abdominal wall laxity occurs.
Unlike liposuction, this is not a weight reduction procedure, but rather a shaping and firming of the abdominal area for a natural and aesthetically harmonious appearance of the body.
At Premier Clinic, the procedure typically lasts 2 to 4 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.
Abdominoplasty is intended for both women and men who:
have excess skin and fat in the abdominal area,
struggle with weakened muscles after pregnancy or weight loss,
wish to improve their body contours and shape,
are in good health and have realistic expectations for the results.
The procedure is not recommended for patients planning future pregnancies or for individuals with serious health issues.

Abdominoplasty is performed under general anesthesia and typically lasts 2 to 4 hours. The surgeon removes excess skin and fat, simultaneously tightening the abdominal muscles to restore the firmness of the abdomen. After the procedure, the patient is transferred to the post-operative ward, where they are monitored for several hours to days depending on the extent of the surgery. This is followed by the wearing of compression garments and regular check-ups during recovery.

The patient should be in good health, without infections or inflammations. It is recommended to stop taking blood-thinning medications 10–14 days prior to the surgery. It is important to inform the doctor about all medications and health issues. For women, it is advisable to schedule the procedure outside of a planned pregnancy period.
After surgery, it is essential to follow a rest regimen and wear compression garments as recommended by the doctor. Swelling, pain, and bruising may occur, which will gradually subside. Avoid strenuous physical activity for several weeks. Follow-up examinations will help monitor healing and the success of the procedure.
