Photorejuvenation slows down the ageing process, boosts confidence, improves the condition and appearance of the skin, and reduces contours. Nowadays, it’s one of the unique treatments in the aesthetic medicine thanks to its safety without the need for surgical interventions, its effect of both rejuvenation and smoothing, together with the renewal of the collagen and elastin fibre production. The procedure can be combined with other aesthetic treatments, including laser, botulinum toxin application and chemical peeling, etc.
Photorejuvenation is carried out as a day-case procedure, without anaesthesia; for more sensitive patients, an anaesthetic cream or local anaesthesia may be used. A beam of light energy penetrates into the skin tissue where it warms the collagen fibres without breaking the dermis. By shrinking the cells of the fibrous tissue, new collagen fibres are stimulated and the skin is tightened and smoothed; the regeneration process is initiated in the subcutaneous region.
