On the day of the procedure, you will arrive at the clinic and the doctor will settle you into a comfortable chair. If you wish, they will apply an anaesthetic cream or use a cooling device to numb the area being treated. However, the injection itself is so gentle that most patients do not even require anaesthesia.
The doctor will mark the areas where the product will be injected in advance. These are the areas with the most pronounced expression lines, usually the forehead, the area between the eyebrows, the outer corners of the eyes or around the lips. Using a fine needle, the doctor then injects the diluted solution into the pre-determined points. You will feel only a slight prick.
The product temporarily paralyses the muscles responsible for the formation of expression lines. It blocks nerve impulses, causing the muscle to contract and stop creating deep furrows in the skin. The skin becomes firmer and smoother. The whole process takes 10 to 15 minutes.
The results become apparent gradually over 2 to 10 days following the treatment. Wrinkles are reduced, and the skin looks rested and youthful. The effect lasts for 6 to 9 months, after which you can repeat the treatment. Regular treatments at six-monthly intervals prolong the effect and prevent the formation of new deep wrinkles.
