At our clinic, we perform both the classic procedure of labiaplasty and the more complex and functional procedure of genital modeling. Thanks to the increasing openness of today’s society, most previously taboo topics are now being discussed publicly. One such topic is one of the most remarkable phenomena in the world: the female genitalia and the associated mental well-being of women, which ultimately affects us all.
The complexity of the female psyche and female body, ergo sexuality, has been the subject of countless books, publications, brochures, guides, and even several plays. However, all these works have one common denominator, which is a woman’s satisfaction with her own body. Aging and gravity are relentless, and the female genitalia are unique in that their shortcomings cannot be masked or camouflaged in intimate moments.
We are talking about the condition of hypertrophy of the labia minora (lat. labia minora). This aesthetic-functional defect can either be congenital or may develop with age, particularly after childbirth via the natural birth canal.
Excess skin of the labia minora can thus become an obstacle for women in activities such as sports, can influence sexuality, and not least, can lead to an increased frequency of infections and mycoses.
There are several ways to correct hypertrophied labia minora. The most well-known and widespread method is called labiaplasty, during which excess skin is removed through excision and the edges are sutured. This procedure is relatively quick, but the resulting scar is located at the top of the labia, making it exposed to all mechanical stress that can occur in this area. Some women may experience uncomfortable sensations during intercourse, which unfortunately often leads to a limitation of these activities. Another detail to mention is the fact that traditional labiaplasty does not allow us to elevate and enhance the clitoris.
Another method of female genital modification – modeling – is technically more complex. The incision is made in the fold between the labia minora and labia majora, where the resultant scar is concealed and protected from mechanical stress. This approach allows us to unfold, spread, reduce excess tissue from both sides of the labia minora, and subsequently model the labia into the desired shape. During this procedure, the skin incision is also made above the clitoral hood, which consequently enhances and elevates the clitoris.
Thanks to this procedure, the result of genital modeling is reliable (safely placed scars in natural folds), aesthetic (the final shape of the labia can be influenced down to the last detail), and functional (due to the increased sensitivity of the clitoris).
