We are experts in the field of plastic surgery and provide quality care for patients considering the removal of their breast implants. Our clinic focuses on an individualized approach, safety, and achieving aesthetically satisfactory results.
The implant explantation procedure can be performed after a consultation with a doctor also under local anesthesia provided that the capsule will not be removed. If the client is interested in capsule removal, general anesthesia is required.
The procedure for removing silicone breast implants is individual and depends on specific circumstances. The common procedure is a surgical operation called explantation. During this operation, the plastic surgeon removes the silicone implants and may perform a revision of the tissues or breast. When removing, the surgeon also focuses on minimizing the risk of damage to surrounding tissues and ensuring an aesthetically pleasing result, where additional costs may be incurred, for example, for breast modeling. Whether you will need breast modeling after removal will be assessed by the plastic surgeon during the consultation.
This is a technique for breast augmentation using your own fatty tissue, which is taken from another part of the body. This method is suitable for clients who prefer a subtle increase in breast size, as a maximum change of one size can be achieved. This method is also suitable for some complex cases where patients no longer want breast implants that cause them problems. We are able to remove the implants and replace them with your own fat, thus maintaining optimal volume and shape of the breasts. The procedure itself usually lasts 2-4 hours and is performed under general anesthesia with a one-day hospitalization.
Aesthetic preferences: Patients may choose to remove silicone implants due to a change in their aesthetic preferences and a more natural appearance of the breasts.
Complications: Some women may experience complications associated with silicone implants, such as implant deformation, asymmetry, rupture, or sagging of the implant. Removal of the implants may be necessary to eliminate these issues.

Explantation is performed under general anesthesia and lasts approximately 1–2 hours depending on the complexity of the procedure. The doctor removes the implants either separately or together with the surrounding fibrous capsule (the so-called en bloc technique). If necessary, the procedure may be supplemented with breast modeling to maintain a natural shape and appearance. After the procedure, the patient is monitored at the clinic for several hours to one day. This is followed by a rest regime and wearing a compression bra for several weeks.

Before explantation, a personal consultation with the doctor is necessary to assess the health status and reasons for the removal of implants. Approximately 10–14 days before the procedure, blood-thinning medications should be discontinued, and the use of substances that increase bleeding (e.g., ibuprofen, certain dietary supplements) should be limited. The patient should be in good condition, without any acute infectious disease. On the day of the procedure, it is necessary to arrive fasting, without makeup and without jewelry.
After explantation, it is necessary to follow a rest regime and wear a special compression bra for several weeks. In the first few days, pain, swelling, and a feeling of tension in the chest area may be present – these usually subside quickly. Stitches are either absorbable or removed approximately 10–14 days later. Physical exertion and sports should be limited for at least 4–6 weeks. The final shape of the breasts stabilizes over several months. Regular check-ups help monitor the healing process.
