We’ll help you understand your hair’s needs and tailor your haircare routine accordingly. Put yourself in the hands of true professionals with many years’ experience.
Long hair – how to look after it? What’s standing in your way?
Several factors can influence how quickly your hair grows. The most important of these are genetic predisposition and hormonal balance. Interestingly, the time of year and even the time of day can have some influence on hair growth. What else?
- Age
- Stress and difficult life circumstances
- Ethnic background
How fast does hair grow?
If we look at the average figures, our hair
grows by 1 to
1.5 cm a month, which is 0.3 to 0.5 millimetres a day and 12 to 15 cm a year.
What is the enemy of long hair?
It’s definitely breakage and split ends. Your efforts should therefore focus primarily on strengthening your hair; length is secondary. Don’t worry – just follow a few recommendations and you’re sure to end up with a beautiful, long mane.
Ten tips to speed up hair growth
Although you can’t expect miracles, there are several ways to stimulate hair growth and prevent breakage, split ends or other damage.
1. Enrich your hair care routine with oils
After washing, apply hair oils to the ends whilst they’re still damp. They help prevent split ends, provide deep nourishment and give your hair a healthy shine. Ideally, choose argan, jojoba or coconut oil.
2. Massage your scalp
A scalp massage promotes microcirculation. And better blood flow means a greater supply of nutrients directly to the hair roots. Be careful – when massaging, use only your fingertips so as not to scratch the scalp with your nails.
3. The right frequency for washing your hair
Washing your hair too often can dehydrate and weaken it. You should therefore wash it 2–3 times a week so as not to put unnecessary strain on it. Always make sure you choose high-quality shampoos. Try one with caffeine extract, for example.
4. Protect your hair when blow-drying and using similar heat-styling tools
Where possible, keep the use of hairdryers, straighteners and curling tongs to an absolute minimum. If you can’t do without them, don’t forget to treat your hair with heat-protective products. Just like hot air, hot water isn’t ideal for your hair either.
5. Be careful when drying your hair
Even rough rubbing with a towel can contribute to damage. Yet it takes very little – simply pat it dry lightly and gently, and let it air-dry naturally.
6. Do not brush wet hair or go to bed with it wet
Instead of dense brushes, use wide-toothed combs to detangle your hair, or simply use your fingers. Brushing wet or damp hair is a sure-fire way to cause breakage. Make sure your hair is dry before you go to bed. Otherwise, you risk your scalp becoming damp and your hair becoming tangled.
7. Minimise your use of styling products
Long-term use of these products weighs down and weakens your hair. Try cutting them out completely for a few months – you’ll notice the difference.
8. Focus on a healthy diet
You can literally eat your way to beautiful hair. Important nutrients that positively influence hair growth include omega fatty acids, protein, biotin and zinc. These are found in pulses, meat, fish, nuts, cheese and leafy vegetables.
9. Get your hair trimmed regularly
Paradoxically, if you want long hair, you should have it trimmed. About once every three months, a hairdresser should trim the ends. Not only will your hair look healthier on the outside, it will be healthier on the inside too.
10. Don’t let stress get to you
Stress – or rather, the hormones your body produces during stressful periods – can have a negative impact on the quality of your hair and its growth. In extreme cases, it can even lead to hair loss. So don’t forget to give your body and mind regular rest.

Healthy hair goes hand in hand with healthy nails and eyebrows
A balanced diet, adequate hydration and an intake of vitamins and minerals will also result in better skin condition, stronger nails and eyebrows, and faster beard growth. As well as fine-tuning your diet, taking dietary supplements containing a complex of suitable minerals and vitamins can also help. Another powerful tool is specialised cosmetics and, of course, impeccable care. Let’s take a closer look at this.
How can you grow long nails? Follow a few simple tips.
- Try to prevent them from splitting and breaking. Applying strengthening nail varnishes and using the correct nail-filing technique (try to maintain their rounded shape) can help with this.
- Focus on moisturising your nails and the nail bed. Use nourishing creams or hand oils. Treat your hands to some extra care in the form of a mask on a regular basis.
- Prevent mechanical damage to your nails. Wear gloves when doing manual work or cleaning. And, of course, don’t bite your nails.
How can you speed up eyebrow growth? Serums and the right make-up technique can help.
- Just as you cleanse your skin every day, gently wash your eyebrows too. Throughout the day, dirt, dust and sweat build up on them, which can cause them to break.
- Use special growth serums containing castor oil. Gently massage them into your eyebrows.
- When applying eyebrow pencil, do not press too hard. This too can lead to weakening and loss of eyebrow hairs.
We often experience hair and eyebrow loss in connection with medical conditions (alopecia) or cancer treatment. Eyebrow transplants and microblading can help restore lost self-confidence. Our specialists can assist you with both.
