Exercises to firm up your breasts – try these tried-and-tested tips and tricks

Do you want to keep a beautiful, full bust for as long as possible? Breast-firming exercises are an excellent preventative measure, helping your breasts to retain their shape for longer and thus maintain a youthful appearance.

In our article, you’ll find the most effective breast-firming exercises, which only take a few minutes a day to do. You’ll also learn which factors negatively affect skin elasticity and what to do if your breasts are sagging and empty after long-term breastfeeding.

Start doing breast-firming exercises as soon as possible

A woman’s body undergoes a series of significant changes at every stage of life, which take their toll on the condition of her breasts. Some women are naturally blessed with firm breasts, so gravity and the passage of time are relatively kind to them. The turning point often comes during pregnancy or after breastfeeding has ended. During this period, the breasts undergo a particularly gruelling ordeal, which very often leads to permanent changes.

Then, of course, there is also a large group of women whose breasts begin to sag at a young age due to external or internal factors.

6 main causes of sagging breasts

  1. Genetic predisposition
  2. Hormonal changes
  3. Breastfeeding
  4. Unhealthy lifestyle (being overweight, obesity, smoking, excessive sun exposure, etc.),
  5. Significant weight loss
  6. The ageing process

If you want to maintain your skin’s elasticity, eat a healthy diet and avoid smoking. The skin around the breasts is very delicate, so protect it from direct sunlight or use creams with a high SPF.

However, exercise and a healthy lifestyle are not a cure-all. If your breasts are very saggy, asymmetrical or have completely lost their volume as a result of prolonged breastfeeding, the only truly effective solution is post-natal breast reshaping, during which you can also undergo breast augmentation using silicone implants.

The best exercises for firming women’s breasts

Don’t forget to warm up before every workout. The ideal warm-up involves raising and lowering your arms in combination with arm swings.

  • The plank is one of the most effective exercises. It helps strengthen practically your whole body. However, holding this position is by no means easy. Your elbows should be directly beneath your shoulders. Your wrists should be in line with your elbows. Your head should be an extension of your spine. Your spine must not sag. Your whole body should be tense. Hold this position for as long as possible. Then rest and repeat at least three times. After a while, you can try more challenging variations of the plank, such as the side plank.
  • Walking up stairs with your hands behind your head is another simple but highly effective way to strengthen your chest muscles. As part of this single exercise, you’ll also strengthen your upper body (glutes, thighs and calves). Walking up the stairs sideways is also effective.
  • The ‘prayer’ is a type of exercise you can do either standing or sitting. Stand or sit up straight and press your palms together as if you were praying. Press your palms together for at least 10 seconds, then release. Repeat this several times in a row. The advantage of this simple exercise is that you can do it practically anywhere.
  • Push-ups are a classic exercise that nobody really likes, but they work perfectly. Just as with the plank, it’s important to perform them correctly. You don’t have to do 50 push-ups; the main thing is that you do them properly. You can choose either the men’s or women’s version.

Men also seek out exercises to firm up their chests

Sagging breasts can also be a concern for men. This may be caused by gynaecomastia. This is a non-cancerous enlargement of the mammary gland in men. At certain stages, it is a completely natural phenomenon that resolves itself. However, if it persists or the enlargement is asymmetrical, hormone treatment is necessary. Another option is plastic surgery. During the procedure, the surgeon may perform liposuction, remove excess glandular tissue, or carry out a combination of both.

Regular exercise is an important part of prevention.

In cases of extreme sagging and asymmetry of the breasts, plastic surgery is the most optimal solution.
